Greetings gang,
I know I all ready set the cleanup date for May 24, but would like to change that to May 17. I drove by Gethsemane yesterday and it has been mowed. Also, since we have a case on May 23 that is a 2 + hour drive for some--I don't want anyone getting up too early just for the cleanup.
Does this sound okay with all of you?

Cool! The 17th it is!
It shouldn't take us long to put the flags out & of course pick up a few palm fronds. I'm going to try to get by Wally World and get some "patriotic" flowers too.

Dusty...I know the boyscouts normally do this in the "public" cemeteries, and I believe the American Legion and/or the VFW may give some support as well. In the interest of saving funds, has anyone been in contact with them to see if they will provide flags, etc.? I'm sure you checked most of this out already, but just in case, I thought I would throw that out there. Larry

Larry,
We did get help in the past from VFW post 1590, but that has since ended. It seems not all cemeteries or Veterans are as important as others. We don't keep our grass mowed often enough to rate getting flags anymore. Very Happy
The only way the Boy Scouts help is if they get credit for doing ALL the work at the cemetery.
It wasn't much for the flags. I order them in bulk from Oriental Trading Company and it was less than $30.00 for a gross of flags and two buntings.
Thanks for checking up on me though.

Oh crap. I am doing a flea market on Saturday and Sunday. I might still be able to make it but I will let you know for sure. Call me when you get a chance to discuss..

Kevin,
If you can't make it because I changed the date, I can always have you come to the house and do some "office" work to make up your hours.
I'll try to call you tomorrow. I have to take Zeus to the vet at 4:00 so it will be after that.

DJ,
Don't worry about it. It's my fault for changing the date.
Like I told Kevin, if you really want to make up hours, you can always come and do some office work.
